Mandela Day 2019
No matter how small your action, Mandela Day is about changing the world for the better, just as Nelson Mandela did every day.
Nelson Mandela saw himself first and foremost as a servant of South Africa’s people, to whom he felt he owed a duty, and who he led by example.
Positive change was the gift and legacy left to all of us by Nelson Mandela, but it can only become a living legacy if we take up his challenge.
Paradigm Software & Hosting in partnership with Calberg Hydraulics took up Madiba’s challenge on Mandela Day 2019.
We visited Huis Aristea’s Frail Care facility in Durbanville and hosted a High Tea in their lounge with lots of delicious homemade baked goodies, sweet and savoury, which was enjoyed by all.
Paradigm has their very own celebrity singer, Esmé de Vos who entertained the residents with her talented singing, accompanied by her guitar.
We had the most delightful morning with the residents. It was such a privilege for us to give back in a small way to these special senior people that were so happy to have us spend time with them.
We commend the staff at Huis Aristea for doing such a sterling job. It is extraordinary individuals that are called to work with the aged and these individuals shine their light in the lives of the residents they care for.
Our parting wisdom is, we can’t change the world but we can take action and inspire change one good deed at a time.
