New Look and Feel
Updated Skin
After a few years of using the same Paradigm design and layout, we are excited to announce that Paradigm is changing to a new fresh look and feel.
The responsive layout smartly interacts with the Paradigm user and the new colour palette is customisable to your company colours. Our new look isn’t just about giving Paradigm a fresh coat of paint, there are also a number of feature updates that’ll make the Paradigm users experience easier and more interactive which in turn increases your business productivity.
Palette Chooser
The new Paradigm Skin allows the users to change the colour palette and instantly re-paint the entire application. You can choose from dozens of unique palette presets to apply to your company aesthetics.
New Grid Controls
Paradigm has introduced Excel inspired filters to set conditions so that only certain data is displayed. This makes it easier to focus on specific information in a large table of data. Our filtering does not remove or modify data, it merely changes which columns appear. Time intelligence calculations are among the most required functionalities in any data model. Our specific date period filtering is a powerful example of our new filtering.
Sales analysis reports are used to determine how to measure the effectiveness of a sales force and to see how the company is performing against their goals. In its most basic form, a sales analysis report shows whether sales are increasing or declining.
The new and improved sleeker Paradigm sales analysis reports generate list views and pivot grids with specific data requested. These reports show management how the business is performing and if changes need to be made to improve business.

RAG Priority Boards
Paradigm uses RAG on Task and Work Tickets, referred to collectively as Tasks. Although there are many ways in which RAG can be used, Paradigm specifically uses it as a priority system to determine the next Task to be undertaken by an available resource.
RAG is an acronym for Red, Amber, Green. In a Theory of Constraints (TOC) environment, each task’s start to due date (duration) is divided into 3 equal time segments. The objective is to complete the task by the end of the 2nd segment (Amber), leaving the 3rdsegment (Red) as the buffer to allow for delays when “Murphy” strikes. This ensures that the task completion is in time, even when overrunning the “internal target date”.
When a resource becomes available it must be allocated the highest priority task that is has the skills to complete in descending order of Black (Late), Red, Amber, Green. A 5th colour, Blue, is also applied, indicating that this task must not be started yet as it may change prior to reaching the status of Green.
Traditional scheduling allocates a task to a resource and a start date, resulting in the same task potentially being rescheduled many times before it is started as priorities and circumstances changes in the lead up to commencement date. The RAG priority system eliminates this wasted work as a task is only allocated once based on priority and the currently available resource.
Some of the benefits of Paradigm’s RAG system are:
- – Complete visibility for all staff, not only those that are allocated the task.
- – Easy to see where tasks run the risk of being late.
- – Massive reduction in unnecessary scheduling work.
User Access
Challenges arise as companies grow, and employees with varying roles and responsibilities increasingly use enterprise solutions like Paradigm Software to do their jobs. Paradigm provides a seamless way to manage user roles and access rights all in one place.
Paradigm Software modules can be managed by multiple users. Individual users require the tools they need to perform their role. A business administrator can control each user’s role, as well as control the scope of their access and their specific permission levels for that access.
Data Filtering per User
Filters enable you to control what data users can see when that data is accessed through Paradigm. A filter can be assigned to a user to narrow the result set when they execute reports or search data. The filter applies to all reports and documents accessed by a user.
Administrators can create and edit defined data filters per user for their specific role. Each user will see their predefined filters and will not have access to anything else.
For example, two regional managers can have two different filters assigned to them for their regions: one has a filter assigned that only shows the data from the JHB region, and the other has a filter that only shows data from the Cape Town region. If these two regional managers run the same report, they may see different report results.
Data Defaulting per User
A default is a predesigned value or setting that is used when a value or setting is not specified by the user.
User Defaults is where Administrators define general default preferences. User defaults are set up to minimise the amount of data entry to ensure accurate details and reporting.
